Christopher Sullivan, MD
Medical Director, Southwest Region
Dr. Sullivan is a practicing clinician in the subspecialty of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He sees patients throughout Southern Arizona who have problems with their pregnancy. Dr. Sullivan joined Genesis OB/GYN in 2012. Since then, the practice has grown and now comprises four Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians who see patients in five locations throughout Southern Arizona.
With its integration of Ob-Gyn and Maternal Fetal Medicine, Genesis created a standard of care for high risk pregnancy unmatched in the region. The practice has an integrated protocol model for common medical conditions that all providers within the organization utilize; this has helped to minimize complications and improve communication among the clinicians. Secondly, Genesis has created a Quality and Safety Committee that oversees clinical operations throughout the organization to ensure the practice maintains the highest standard of care. The integration of such clinical services has led Genesis to be the predominant women’s healthcare provider in the region.
Dr. Sullivan has served as the President of Genesis OB/GYN since 2016. He also has served as Medical Director of Northwest Hospital Women’s Center in Tucson, AZ, as well as Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut.
Dr. Sullivan attended Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. His residency in Ob-Gyn was at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. He then completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. His interests include hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, preterm birth, and prenatal diagnosis and therapy.
